How to Apply for Canada Emergency Business Account

Heads up! This post is now 5 years old, and the content may not be current information.

The CEBA Application is only available online through your business bank.  Here’s a brief summary of the process for the major banks.

ATB – Go to https://www.atb.com/business/borrowing/business-loans/canada-emergency-business-account/    The CEBA application button is on this page.  Clicking on the button takes you to your business account sign-in.  You complete the application from inside your online business account.

Bank of Montreal – Go to https://www.bmo.com/main/business/covid-19-business-support/.  Click on “Apply for the CEBA program”.  Clicking on the button takes you directly to the application, which is completed outside your online business account.

CIBC – Go to https://www.cibc.com/en/business/advice-centre/covid-19.html#governmentrelief.  The CEBA application button is below all the text describing the program.  Clicking the button takes you to your business account sign-in, and the application is completed inside your online business account.

Canadian Western Bank – Call or email your Relationship Manager.  Relationship Manager sends a link.  The link downloads the CEBA application.  Complete and sign the application.  Return the application to your Relationship Manager by email.

RBC – Sign into your business account online.  The CEBA application button is inside your online business account.  Click on the button, complete the application.  Once the application has been completed, the CEBA application button disappears from your online account.

Scotiabank – Go to https://www.scotiabank.com/ca/en/personal/scotia-support/latest-updates/business-banking/small-business/supporting-our-customers-is-our-top-priority.html.  The CEBA “Apply Now” button is front and center on this page.  Clicking on the button takes you to your business account sign-in.  Complete the application from inside your online business account.

TD –    Go to https://www.td.com/ca/en/personal-banking/covid-19/small-business-relief/  The CEBA application button is down towards the bottom of this page.  Clicking on the button takes you directly to the application, which is completed outside your online business account.

CAUTION!

CEBA applications for Bank of Montreal, Canadian Western Bank, and TD are completed outside your online business account.  BE VERY CAREFUL filling in bank account and bank branch information.  A typo will result in your application being rejected and you will have to re-apply.
