IP Assist – Subsidy for IP Protection

Companies that are developing new technology, new processes, new products, or new software are faced with the problem of how to protect the Intellectual Property (IP) that is created.  This is especially important when IP can be transmitted instantly anywhere in the world.  What does a company do when it discovers its IP is being used somewhere else in the country or in the world?

The Federal Government recognizes that in order for Canadian companies to continue to develop new IP, they need assurance that there will be an economic benefit.  As a result, they have introduced a new program, administered by the Industrial Research Assistance Program, called IP Assist.

IP Assist provides information services to companies in the early stages of IP development and financial support for companies to develop an IP strategy and further financial support to implement an IP strategy.  A company moving through the three stages – education, strategy, and implementation- is eligible to receive up to $50,000 in subsidy.

Are you working on a project that is creating IP?  Give us a call and see how this program may work for you.
